Cherokee North Carolina is the center of Cherokee culture in North Carolina. It is a stopping point when entering the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and also the beginning of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Among many things, Cherokee is famous for its trout fishing. The fisheries department stocks streams yearly and maintains some of the best trout fishing in the state. NC fishing licences are not valid on the reservation but a reservation licence can be bought almost any were in town.
